(MESI) established in 1932 is one of Russia's leading higher education institutions in the field of economics, statistics and computer science both for Russian nationals and nationals of other countries.
Along with its Moscow campus, MESI comprises 13 branches and about 200 study centers all over Russia (from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok) and abroad (Armenia, Belarus, Israel, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan). MESI provides a wide range of education and training programmes at different levels from secondary and vocational to postgraduate to continuing education in mixed modes of full-time, part-time and distance learning, and by using the latest training methods and innovative e-learning techniques. MESI has 70 years of experience in distance education, over 30 years in computer-based instruction and about 10 years of e-learning practice. Role of MESI in the Project
As a partner in the project, MESI will contribute to the activities of the consortium by its expertise in e-learning, teaching Russian as foreign language as well as instruction of prisoners (experience of MESI Tver branch). MESI will participate in planning of the Language Portals and their design as well as in elaboration of common decision on content framework and methods of teaching/learning. MESI will design Russian Language Portal and elaborate content for it. When ready, MESI will conduct and supervise the exploitation of the Russian Language Portal as well as disseminate the results of the project.
About Staff
Irina Tretyakova
Coordinator of the MESI team in project. Starting as a mathematician and computer engineer (expertise in development of software packages, computer and software maintenance, training in linguistic software, etc.), she is now Director of the MESI Tver branch, Corresponding member of the International Academy of Open Education and has over 20 publications.
Vitaliy Klevtsov
Expert in e-learning. Ph.D. in Economics, he is Deputy Director for Knowledge Management of the MESI Tver branch and has experience in content development.
Tatiana Logutenkova
Expert in teaching Russian as foreign language. Full Professor (modern languages), Dr. Sc. in Philology, she has about 70 publications in linguistics and 20-years work experience in higher educational institutions.
Dmitry Cherny
expert in instructional design. Deputy Director on Information technologies, he has rich experience in the field of formation and support of information infrastructure of firms, creation of sites, organization of networks, etc.
Larissa Buruhina
expert in quality assurance and quality management. Starting as a mathematician, she took a post-graduate course "Labour psychology, human engineering, psychological sciences & ergonomics" (Ph.D.) and has over 20 years of experience in pedagogic work.
